What this does
Creates a QR code pointing at your payment link. Someone scans it with their phone camera and lands on the payment screen, with no typing and no misspelled usernames.
Useful for a market stall, an invoice, a tip jar, or splitting a bill.
How to use it
- Choose your payment service.
- Enter your username or handle exactly as it appears in that app.
- Type the amount on the keypad, so the payer does not have to enter one. An amount is required.
- Tap Generate QR and show the screen to the payer. To print it, tap Copy QR image and paste it into a document. Copy link gives you the plain payment link.
Printing a code people can actually scan
- Print it at least three centimetres across. Bigger for anything scanned from a distance.
- Plain black on white scans most reliably. Coloured codes on busy backgrounds often fail.
- Leave clear white space around the edge. Codes crowded by other artwork will not read.
- Always test the printed code with a real phone before putting it out.
Check it before you use it
Scan your own code and confirm it lands on the right account. A typo in a username means someone else gets paid, and you will not find out until the money does not arrive.
Your privacy
The code is made on your device and your details are not stored on any server. The QR code itself is public by nature: anyone who can see it can scan it, so it contains only what you would print on a sign.
Common questions
Do I have to set an amount?
Yes. Generate QR stays greyed out until you type one, and the amount goes into the link so the payer does not have to enter it.
Does the code expire?
No. It keeps working as long as your payment account does.
Is it safe to display publicly?
Yes. It only points at your payment page, which is the same information as telling someone your handle. It cannot take money out.
